Christian Hip Hop Artist Richard Dauphin Reaches out For Aid to Haiti
Was checking our email and came across a correspondence from Christian Hip Hop Artist, Richard Dauphin and we would like to share it with you our readers:
BLESSINGS FAMILY
In light of the earthquake that has left the island of Haiti in utter devastation, I’m asking that we band together and send help to a people in desperate need. What has happened in Haiti has affected the lives of millions and myself included. For those who didn’t know I am Haitian and have family that live in Haiti as well. My father went to visit Haiti in December and was scheduled to return to New York on the 13th of January. Due to the earthquake on the 12th he wasn’t able to return and communication is difficult and like many others, I have still been unsuccessful in my efforts to reach him.
When natural disasters take place, most times in other parts of the world, we tend to feel somewhat disconnected because we feel like there is very little we can do to help. As a people we definitely should feel compassion for others. When it hits so close to “home” our sensitivity and awareness become heightened and no longer disconnected. This time we have an opportunity to get involved. Through prayer allow God to speak to your heart as to how you can get involved. Right now as we have heard from sources like CNN, monetary involvement is the best way we can help. After we pray, money will put food in their mouths, clothes on their backs and give whatever medical attention they need. Further along in this email you will find ways to help.
Haiti earthquake 2010

For people seeking to restore contact with family members after the earthquake in Haiti
As a result of the earthquake that hit Haiti on 12 January 2010, thousands of persons within Haiti and abroad have lost contact with their loved ones.
The aim of the Family Links website is to accelerate the process of restoring contact between separated family members.
It is managed by the ICRC, in cooperation with the tracing services of the Haitian Red Cross Society and of National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies throughout the world.
At this stage, the website offers the possibility for persons in Haiti and abroad to publish the names of relatives with whom they are striving to restore contact. It will progressively incorporate information offering responses to those queries.
Entries published on the lists can be modified only by the ICRC. Therefore, should you like to make any modification on a name entered or delete a name completely, please send us an E-mail.
